Where are you located and how do we contact you?

We showcase and trade from The Hemswell Antique Centres (Dealer Number 1537).

Our Antique Shop Showrooms are open 10am until 5pm EVERY DAY and we are located in Building 1, 3 and the Guardroom at the Hemswell Antique Centres, Caenby Corner Estate, Hemswell Cliff, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, DN21 5TJ, UK.

Please call +44 (0)1427 668 389 any sales, trade or general enquiries. The phone is manned by the Antique Centre Staff who have direct immediate contact with us, so we can get back to you promptly with any enquiry.

How Do I Purchase your Antiques?

What are Decorative Antiques?

Decorative Antiques are original antiques from a single or multiple periods or styles used collectively or individually as decoration to create a particular theme or look and feel in a home, office or retail outlet. As examples, a Georgian Period Nautical Theme could consist of antique ships bells, wheels, lanterns, tarred ropes, blocks, canvas etc; A Retail Shoe Outlet may buy good quality Victorian wooden Shoe Lasts to compliment the look and feel of their product and widow displays; or simply a 19th Century french lantern may be used in a home to create warmth, style and individuality in decoration.

If you are looking to build a particular period look or individual theme we can work with you to assist with the sourcing of a decorative collection from our stock or through our antiques network.

What dates and styles do 19th Century Antiques cover?

The 19th Century began on January 1st 1801 and ended on December 31st 1900. This period covered the Georgian and Victorian era in Britain and in the US, saw the war of 1812 and US Civil War. Through this period an industrial boom grew with the Industrial Revolution and US industrial periods and the saw start of the steam and machine ages.

Design styles through this period included: Georgian, Victorian Romantic, Victorian Grand, Victorian Aesthetic, Late Regency, Gothic Revival, early Arts Nouveau, Renaissance Revival, the early Arts and Crafts movement, Egyptian Revival and the Japanese Meiji period, to name a few.
